ST. GEORGE- Members and veterans of the U.S. Army’s 2nd Battalion, 222nd Field Artillery, popularly known as the “Triple Deuce”, are invited to attend an upcoming luncheon in honor of the doubly significant date.
Appropriately, the “Taco Tuesday for the Deuce” luncheon events are scheduled for Feb. 22 (2-22-22), the retired master sergeant said. Kelly Kleinman, who added that he and other members of the band also met over breakfast and lunch earlier this month at two separate meals held Feb. 2 in Washington City and Hurricane.
On Feb. 22, the band members plan to meet for lunch beginning at 11 a.m. at various favorite St. George restaurants, including Paula’s Mexican Food, Peppers Cantina, and Pancho & Lefty’s.
No advance notice is required, Kleinman said, adding that everyone is welcome to pay for their own meals.
“It’s open to anyone who has served or is still serving, or anyone who wants to come join us,” Kleinman said.
Additionally, 2-222 Field Artillery veterans are invited to attend one or both of the upcoming Triple Deuce meetings. The first is scheduled for March 19 at the Utah National Guard Armory in St. George and the second for May 7 at the Richfield Armory. Both events will begin at 10 a.m., Kleinman said.
