Defense contractor delivers advanced artillery fire control system to Russian troops – Army & Defense

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. High Precision Systems Holding within state technology company Rostec has delivered another state-of-the-art automated artillery fire control system to troops, Rostec’s press office said Tuesday.

“The 1V198 system delivered to troops as part of the 2021 Defense Procurement Plan provides high artillery control efficiency, especially for the Tornado-G multiple rocket launcher,” the press office said quoting the industrial director of the Rostec arms cluster, Bekkhan Ozdoyev.

The system includes advanced software and the latest artillery fire control technology that can automatically detect a target with high accuracy, aim the gun at it and eliminate it, the statement said.

The state-of-the-art artillery fire control system developed and manufactured by the Signal All-Russian Research Institute allows performing fire tasks, performing counter-fire maneuvers, locating and hitting a target in the faster from two or more locations with an accuracy of up to 10 meters, Rostec said.

The delivery set includes 1V1003 command and observation vehicles based on the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier and 1V1004 command and staff vehicles based on Ural trucks. The equipment allows fully automated fire control for up to four artillery batteries of different types. The 1V198 artillery fire control system has been operational in the Russian army for several years.
