Military Artillery Kills Dozens of ISWAP Terrorists in Yobe as 1 CJTF Dies in Borno

Nigerian military artillery shelled an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) rendezvous killing scores of terrorists in Yobe State.

LEADERSHIP understood that the insurgents had converged on a given location like Wulle on motorcycles and vehicles with the intention of carrying out an attack on the nearest military formation.

An intelligence report obtained by Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency expert and Lake Chad security analyst from senior military sources, which was made available to our correspondent, indicates that by acting on intelligence , troops from the task force’s 27th Battalion fired several artillery pieces at the terrorists which resulted in the deaths of an unknown number of them.

It was further reported that the terrorists then returned on six motorbikes and a vehicle to evacuate their bodies.

In another development, a Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) member was killed while four others were injured in a midnight raid by ISWAP terrorists in Benisheik, a village in the government area. local from Kaga in Borno State.

Benisheikh is located about 72 km and 44.8 miles from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

It was established that the terrorists snuck into the city on motorbikes around 3:30 a.m. and engaged security guards in a fierce firefight.

Another intelligence report obtained by Zagazola Makama said the terrorists overpowered the security men, killing one and torching four patrol vehicles.

The sources said the terrorists retreated and fled on sighting a Nigerian army reinforcement team.

It can be recalled that Makama sounded the alarm that terrorists were planning to carry out numerous attacks against soft targets across the country between September and October 2022.
