Russian artillery apparently lands near Ukrainian streamer’s studio

Just over a week ago, Russia began its all-out invasion of Ukraine. What started as an occasional artillery strike quickly turned into what was described by Amnesty International like indiscriminate fire on civilian areas and infrastructure.

A streamer apparently caught a recent artillery strike near his studio in Ukraine on his Twitch channel while discussing the conflict with his audience. BULOCHKA captured the event on Twitch, where he was cut and then uploaded to Reddit around 4pm CT on March 3 or around midnight in the Ukrainian EET.

In the clip, two people can be seen sitting within view of the camera, discussing the ongoing crisis. A loud bang can be heard right after starting, followed by a slight camera shake. Both streamers immediately looked shocked when the second explosion occurred. They went to collect their belongings, probably with the intention of moving to a safer place.

But almost as soon as they start to leave, a look of resolve appears on their faces. Like many people in their country, BULOCHKA decides to stay and continue their discussion on the conflict, despite what they have just experienced. With a sigh, they recompose and refocus in the frame.

This resilience could in part be the result of hearing multiple explosions over the past week. Seven days ago, BULOCHKA heard an explosion that seemed much closer.

In a video from two days ago, BULOCHKA is eating when they seem to see something in the distance. They start to leave then move faster when something resembling thunder is heard in the distance.

These clips come after another streamer caught the early bombardment of Odessa live on his Twitch stream. But that was early in the conflict and it didn’t seem to be happening near a residential area.

As this conflict continues, we get more and more evidence of how it directly affects the lives of Ukrainians. Through videos showing Ukrainians interrupted in their daily activities by the fear of war, we learn more about the people of the country and their strength.
